What is Spirometry?

Spirometry is the most common lung function test to objectively assess the functional capacity of the lungs, especially in Asthma and COPD patients. It measures how much and how quickly you can move air in and out of your lungs.

Who would benefit from spirometry?

Spirometry assesses lung function in patients with lung disease. It helps make a diagnosis of emphysema and Asthma. It helps monitor the progress of the Asthma patient as well as COPD patient. It can also be used to check if exposure to chemicals or substances in the home or workplace has caused lung disease. Spirometry helps assess lung function in patients undergoing surgery.

How does Nibbana Healthcare provide spirometry services?

Our team uses FDA-approved clinic-based bedside Spirometry devices to diagnose Emphysema and Asthma. We mainly focus in monitoring the progression of the disease especially Asthma and COPD and adjust the medications based on the spirometry results and clinical status of the patient.

Does Nibbana Healthcare care provide lung specialist (Pulmonologist) services?

We do not provide direct pulmonologist services in the community yet. But we do provide referrals for patients with advanced COPD and Asthma that would benefit from pulmonologist's expert opinion. Our team will coordinate patient care with their respective pulmonologist actively.
